5 Flashy Twilight Party Favors

By Andrea C. McClure

A bunch of friends, a packet of chips and something to drink; is this not enough to party? Well, yes that is a party too. But now is the age of hard partying and theme parties are the latest rage. When talking about theme parties, the one word that enlightens many hearts is Twilight. Twilight is a series of four books about an ordinary girl Bella falling in love with a vegetarian vampire (do not feed on humans) Edward, written by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight party themes have revolutionized the world of parties.

The Twilight parties just like the Harry Potter series have redefined the way parties have been celebrated. Be it a birthday or Halloween parties, or any high school or college party, when all friends are Twilight fanatics the mood for a perfect Twilight theme party is set.

There are numerous Twilight party favors available online and you can make your affordable choice. The first step is obviously giving out personalized Twilight invitations to your friends. You can use the Twilight font Zephyr and also give a red apple with a red satin ribbon tied to its stem. Red and white tulips are also a favorite.

Music is the love of life. What is a party without music? Play the Twilight movie sound tracks and if possible play the movie too. It is so much fun to watch the movie with so many Twilight fanatics around, even if you are watching it a tenth time.

Festoons and decorations spice up the spirit of parties. Twilight theme parties can be embellished with the novel or movie specific features. Hang Twilight movie posters around the room. Have the vampire hunk Robert Pattinson, his lady love Kristen Stewart and the fierce werewolf Taylor Lautner lighten up your living rooms. Place photos and posters of the Cullen family crest around your home. Some crazy fans go to the extent of hanging umbrellas all over the house to represent the always rainy and wet Forks. You can also have dim red and white lighting all over.

Now the mood is all set and Twilighty. The next most important thing is the food. You ca have most items to be in red color. Fill jars with red, white or black apple shaped candies. Serve red velvet cake, red punch or soda. You can serve Italian food as that is what the Cullen family cook when Bella visits them first. Try making mushroom ravioli as that is the dish Bella orders when she is out with Edward on their first dinner together.

Coming to the fun activities part, there are the traditional tail the donkey kind of games you can play. To stick to the theme you can play “Who said it?” Quote lines from the Twilight book or movie and have your friends guessing which character’s dialogue it is.

Giveaways make your parties more special and popular. There are numerous options of giveaways to Twilight fans. Be it key chains with your favorite characters’ pictures or the movie CDs, the options are infinite. Is it an all girls party? You have the all new Twilight themed lip balm and purse favors available. For students Twilight notebooks and water bottles are favorites.

Do not forget the dress code for the party. Ask your guests to wear red dresses with deep red nail polishes. You also can have fangs to show the vampire effect.

If allowed to do so, I would have written this article about Twilight in red to stick to the theme. Get all the Twilight party favors of your choice and enjoy a great party adding all your innovative ideas.

Movie Review: Twilight (2008)

By Popculturefan

You Better Hold On Tight, Spidermonkey

Arguably the best line in the movie, "You better hold on tight, spidermonkey," says Edward as he climbs up the bark of a redwood with Bella on his back. And as they continue on through the forest, jumping, flying, arriving at high mast to overlook a scene of enormous, mountainous beauty, you would never guess that it was all CGI. These days, however, I'm beginning to accept that most of it is. See: Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, although Harry Potty is worse in that it's overly colorful and horribly childish. It's actually quite disturbing to find so many comparisons of Twilight to Potter, most presumably due to the furor engulfing followers of both. Is it too much to recognize the vast difference between the two? If I were part of the production of Twilight, I'd be pretty annoyed at America (although I can think of a kajillion other reasons to be annoyed at America, but that's beside the point).

Fans of the book would be horrified at the adaptation on the screen. What is a clumsy, humorous protagonist character in the book is portrayed as sullen and lost, only to be found by her true vampire love (awe), which was probably what Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter) wanted and Stephanie Meyer (novelist) hates. If you hadn't read the book (and I hadn't, sorry) then you might actually enjoy it far more (like i did).

The problems in the movie have nothing to do with acting or portrayal; nobody overdoes it, nobody falls short. Neither does any cinematography exhibit a lack of skill. The downfalls are found in the teeny-bopper, sexy soundtrack and the tag-line dialogue in the villains. This is a movie for 13 year old girls. And its overtones of sexuality are a little.. vague. My point being that if you're going to go that route, why not go all the way and have some lesbian kissing? That way you'd reel in not just the girls but the boys too!

Alas, I'm glad you didn't, because while the ridiculousness of the plot -- girl is lonely, girl meets boy, boy is vampire, vampires are dangerous, girl learns the hard way.. and nothing has a logical explanation to it... maybe that's what makes it good, that it's a fantasy.

One of the most important concepts some filmmakers have trouble understanding is the color scheme of the storyboard. Twilight does not make this mistake. While it's vivid, dreamy, and dark it's also very colorful without losing faith in itself, a forest hue bundle that never fades. Another great example of this is Memento and, in fact, there's some talk of it in the DVD extras. Ultimately, color-scheming is a marketing ploy and you can see the same scheme on the website for New Moon, although New Moon has a more sepia tone drawn in. Yet another example is The Illusionist. Come to think of it, the color scheme is exactly the same in the Illusionist.

Anyhoo, this is not an A1 movie. Neither is it bottom-of-the-barrel. The toughest part on the filmmakers must have been squeezing a 544 page book into a two hour movie, which is sort of long for teenagers. However, it reels in your inner teenage girl and doesn't tire, even through the credits while Radiohead plays (scarily) and then moves to one of the worst Linkin Park songs I think I've ever heard.

Getting Your Hands on the Twilight Movie DVD

By Weera Kunti

Twilight is the popular vampire love story, adapted from the book, of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. There is barely a girl in the country who has failed to be captivated by the charm of the lead character. The book, the whole series and all of its characters have become extremely popular and well-known since the release of this well-awaited movie in theatres. In fact the story doesn’t just appeal to teenage girls, it has something to attract just about anyone of any age.

The captivating story and the success of the movie means that fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the Twilight movie DVD, which can’t come quickly enough for most of us. In order to get it as quickly as possible, pre-ordering the DVD is one of the best options.

The Twilight movie is based on a series of four books about a vampire romance. This romance happens between a human, Bella Swan, and a vampire, Edward Cullen. The story follows their struggle as they try to fight their feelings after meeting at school – nether of them can fight it, and they need to find a way of being together.

The author, Stephanie Meyer, describes their romance beautifully. This really is a true love story, with an interesting vampire twist on the classic. There is nothing that can be done to change their love – partly why the movie was such an instant hit.

There are a number of places letting you pre-order the Twilight DVD. The great thing about doing so means that you can hope to get the DVD on your doorstop the very day it is released – something that is extremely exciting for fans! If you check your local DVD stores then you may find it difficult to find those that are accepting pre-orders, so keep shopping around until you find one that does.

It’s important to make your pre-order as quickly as possible. The truth is that this is one of the most popular DVD releases, meaning it will sell out quickly. And unless you want to wait for the second shipment of stock, you might be disappointed if you fail to preorder in time.

There have been a number of instances in history where popular films such as Twilight have sold out due to phenomenal demand and popularity of the movies. There is a chance that Twilight will be even more popular than some of these past movies, meaning that pre-ordering can save a lot of hassle when it comes to getting your hands on that Twilight movie DVD. The books sold over 40 million copies around the world, and the movie is quickly following its success.

The Twilight movie DVD release is imminent, meaning you need to get moving if you want to secure your copy. Try preordering the movie today. If you can’t find it in any stores, then try online for the easiest way to compare what’s available.

The 10 Best Songs About Ghosts

Face it: we're fascinated by ghosts. Especially this time of
year, during the season of Halloween and the Day of the
Dead. Whether as metaphors or as intimations of our
mortality, you don't need to necessarily believe in ghosts
to appreciate them. These ten songs and CDs represent a
variety of styles, from somber to playful, from traditional
to experimental. But they all share a sure sense of artistry
that deals with the dead, the dying, or things departed.

1. Furry Sings the Blues (song) -- Joni Mitchell. In this
song about an old blues singer in Memphis, Mitchell is
haunted by images of ghosts and a bygone era: "Bourbon
laughter -- ghosts -- and history falls to parking lots and
shopping malls."

2. The Ghost of Tom Joad (song) -- Bruce Springsteen. With
the restrained, transparent arrangement and the whispery
singing, Springsteen conjures Steinbeck's downtrodden
character from The Grapes of Wrath.

3. Ghosts I-IV (CD) -- Nine Inch Niles. In Trent Reznor's
first purely instrumental CD, released earlier this year,
the music is built around ambient drones, simple piano
figures and ghostly breathing.

4. Happy Phantom (song) -- Tori Amos. A lyrical, lilting
tune about coming back as a mischievous ghost: "and I'll go
chasing the nuns out in the yard." Subtly arranged for piano
and a dulcimer that's played in the manner of a de-tuned
fiddle.

5. Haunted (song) -- Poe. The eerie arrangement evokes
lyrics about being haunted by things from the past: "one
more look at the ghost before I make it leave."

6. Hotel California (song) -- The Eagles. The ghostly hotel
of the title serves as metaphor for the 1970s L.A. music
industry. The choice of 12-string guitar for the intro, its
strange sound evoking an instrument from another time, sets
the perfect mood.

7. Hush, Hush, Hush (song) -- Paula Cole, as performed by
Herbie Hancock and Annie Lennox. In the Hancock/Lennox
version of this song about a young man dying of AIDS
("skeleton, your eyes have lost their warmth"), the sombre
tune opens up into flights of improvisatory jazz, the most
beautiful and moving evocation of a soul being released that
you'll ever hear.

8. The Spectral Ships (CD) -- Richard Bone. Richly
introspective, ambient instrumental pieces that create the
image of ghostly ships gliding silently across the water.

9. Twilight and Ghost Stories (CD) -- Chris Schlarb. An
experimental collage of nameless movements and numberless
tracks with contributions by 50 artists. The music weaves
together electronic noises, voices, field recordings and
instruments. One critic describes it as "an evocation to
memory."

10. Thriller (song) -- Michael Jackson. A campy voice-over
by Vincent Price, a ground-breaking video and a great beat:
what's not to love? Given how the pop idol later used
plastic surgery to reshape his face into something
monstrous, the song was prescient... an example of life
imitating art?

Coming Up With Second Birthday Party Invitation Wording

What's the next best thing to a first birthday party? A
second birthday party, of course! A child who is celebrating
such an early birthday may not appreciate the effort that
goes into the writing of a second birthday party invitation
wording, but the parents and their guests certainly will!

Another thing you have to take into consideration when
you're making a second birthday party invitation wording is
that every party invitation is a memento that the child can
keep for the rest of his or her life. If you would like to
make a memory that will be precious throughout one's life,
making an effort to make one's childhood party invitations
worthwhile would certainly be one way to go about it.

A child's second birthday is usually spent with family and
friends. The parents could also arrange playdates with the
other children from the neighborhood, in order to make sure
their precious one is not neglected or bored. Naturally an
invitation to such a party is expected to be festive, with
vibrant baby themes and bright colors to show exactly how
much fun it would be to attend. The invitation should
reflect the nature of the party, so if the guests could
expect wholesome company, games, party favors and dancing or
joyful music, your invitation should have all the elements
that would show this.

Is the party going to be primarily a toddlers' party? What
are the attractions involved? Will there be a clown or a
magician performing? Why not advertise these things on your
invitation by including related graphics? A big top or a
clown on the front of the card.would be a huge draw. The
image of a magician would be an equally good attraction.
Everyone appreciates a good magic trick, and having a
magician around is sure to make any children's gathering
more magical!

Will there be a theme? Some professional planners of
childrens parties employ cartoon themes, which are always
popular with kids. Who is the child's favorite cartoon
character? Does this character have a favorite saying - like
"What's up, Doc?" or even "Moon prism power - make up"? Even
at the age of 2, children should be able to indicate these
things. Make sure to take these into consideration when
drafting your invitation. If the child is a fan of Mickey
Mouse or Bugs Bunny, say, every other child or adult who
also happens to be a fan of Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny would
be even more excited to attend!

Having the child's favorite cartoon characters printed on
the front of the invitation, regardless of not whether there
is an actual theme to the party, would be a good hint to the
guests as to what sort of presents to bring. Toddler-safe
toys that have favorite cartoon characters, and come in the
child's favorite colors, are sure to be treasured by the
little celebrant.

So when coming up with your second birthday invitation
wording, look into the characters and things the child
enjoys. This would make for a memorable invitation that the
child is sure to treasure for a lifetime.

The Twilight Saga is Full of Unique Twilight Party Ideas

Are you planning a party based on the Twilight Saga by
Stephanie Meyer? With the books selling over 40 million
copies in over 37 countries, Twilight party ideas are going
to be very hot this year. Why not start planning your
Twilight Party right now.

Twilight Party Invitations

Can you write using Calligraphy? If so, you can copy the
lovely font, Carmilla, and write out your invitations in
script that looks like Edward's handwriting. Use antique
looking paper and take your party guests back to
1918...Edward's era. Use Twilight Clip Art you can find
online to decorate your invitations. Add all the important
party info , such as:

Who What Where When RSVP

Get those mailed right out, and now it's on to other party
planning chores.

Twilight Party Decorations

Life size stand ups of Bella and Edward can be purchased
online if you'd like to have these two love birds at your
party. Imagine the look on everyone's face as they walk into
your party and see Edward and Bella! What a great start to
your party decorating! These life size cut outs also come
with James, Laurent and Victoria...the nomadic vampires, who
cause all the trouble in Twilight. Can't afford the cut outs?
Or don't want to spend that much money on party decorations?
Find pictures of Bella, Edward, Alice, Jasper and the rest
of the Twilight Cast in magazines. Cut out the pages and put
the pics into photo frames. Scatter them around your party
room as though they are the people who live there.

Since the Cullen Family are vegetarians...which means, in
vampire talk, that they only drink the blood of animals,
your party's decor doesn't have to be the same old bloody,
scary Count Dracula Vampire Halloween style decor that we
are used to. The Cullen's are a refined family with style,
grace and taste.

Many of the party supplies you can use for a Twilight party
might be things you already have. How nice will it be able
to use decorating items you have and not have to buy more!

Alice Would Use Twinkle Lights

If you remember anything about the parties Alice decorated
for, it was all roses and thousands of twinkling lights. So,
there's your first party decorating tip... twinkle lights .
You can get them in white, or you can be daring and bold
with red and black ones. Red and black is a pretty daring
decorating statement. Very dramatic. You can use the ideas
on the Twilight Saga book covers...Twilight-An apple (red
and black), New Moon-A red and white Parrot Tulip (red,
white and black), Eclipse-A red satin ribbon against a black
background (red and black), and Breaking Dawn- a white Chess
piece, the Queen symbolizing Bella, against the black
background (white and black). All of these color schemes
will work to create a very intense background for your
Twilight Saga Party.

Use a Black Table Cloth with white or red dishes. Use white
linen napkins and wrap each place setting of silverware in
them. Tie them with a red satin ribbon. Place a glass vase
on the center of the table and fill it with red and white
Parrot tulips... or the roses Alice likes so much.

The Twilight Saga As Decorations

Scatter several copies of the Twilight books around the
room. You can use the book covers themselves as decorations.
You can set a dish of apples on a table, and have some white
chess pieces on the tables around the room. Lay some red
satin ribbons on those tables too. You can fill glass
cylinders with some shiny Christmas balls. Fill one with
black balls, and the other with red. Twinkle lights will let
you keep your regular lights on low and create an intimate
feeling. Play the Twilight Sound track and clear an area so
those who want to dance can. Keep the music low, so
conversations can be heard!

Trivia Games Made From The Twilight Saga

If you are like me, you know all the books of the Saga
backwards and forwards. Then you don't have to look for
Twilight party games...you can make your own. Just think of
all the most interesting facts about the books and
characters that you can. Write it down, followed by the
answer. An example is: Who turned Jasper? The answer is:
Maria. Or where was Alice waiting for Jasper? The diner in
Philadelphia. I am amazed by Alice this week, that's why
these trivia questions are about her and Jazz. I am always
dazzled by Edward. Where did Edward take Bella on their
honeymoon? The answer is : Isle Esme. See how easy it is to
make your own trivia game!

Twilight Party Music Ideas The Soundtrack to the Twilight
Movie of course! You can buy the soundtrack, or you can
download some of the songs for free. Try a site like
Rhapsody.com. You can also play albums of the groups on the
soundtrack. The tunes and groups include:

1. Supermassive Black Hole ~Muse 2. Decode ~Paramore 3. Full
Moon ~The Black Ghosts 4. Leave Out All The Rest ~Linkin
Park 5. Spotlight [Twilight Mix] ~Mutemath 6. Go All The Way
[Into the Twilight] 7. Tremble For My Beloved ~Collective
Soul 8. I Caught Myself ~Paramore 9. Eyes On Fire ~Blue
Foundation 10. Never Think ~Rob Pattinson 11. Flightless
Bird, American Mouth ~Iron & Wine 12. Bella's Lullaby
~Carter Burwell

Twilight Party Food Thoughts

Now what to serve as a party menu for a Twilight Party? I am
not a cooking kind of girl, so I always try to go for the
easiest party foods out there. I like Pizza and Subs...or a
lunch meat tray and rolls. But if you're looking for some
sophisticated vampire party menu...I'll give you one. How
about:

A red soup...tomato, mushroom ravioli served with some
grilled chicken breasts in red sauce. Not bad for a chick
who doesn't cook much! Tasty Cullen Punch and Vampire
Cupcakes A drink idea is a red punch, call it

Cullen Punch and serve it in a crystal punch bowl of course.
Desserts are easier for me...Vampire cupcakes. Red velvet
cupcakes with white icing...with two tiny red puncture marks
on each one. These are very nice looking...not gory at all.
The Cullen Coven would like them!As you can see, these
suggestions can help you plan a sophisticated party and a
dramatic decorating scheme when you use Twilight Saga Party
Ideas.

a Porsche like the one Alice and Bella use to get to
Volterra Italy. Use your knowledge of the series to come up
with interesting scavenger hunt items. You can add to the
excitement by giving a special prize to the person that
completes the hunt.

A great party game is to have Twilight memory game. Make
sure to have a list of each of the characters in the
Twilight series and whether they are human, vampire, and or
werewolf. The object of the game is to have each person
repeat the list starting with one character and adding a new
one with each round. People who can't repeat the order
exactly will be disqualified. The person left standing wins.
This is a great game mainly because it tests memory and
concentration.

You can also have look alike and costume contests. Give
guest a set of rules for the costumes along with the
invitation so they know what counts. Try to make it
interesting like the costume can't go above a certain dollar
amount or you can only use things you can find at one store.
The challenge of creating the costume with limits will prove
entertaining for participants and the final results should
be really interesting and make great photo opportunities for
your party.

You can also have a Twilight version of Family Feud. This
may take some preparation as you will need to poll party
guests. Have a set of questions about Twilight prepared and
post it on face book and have guests answer it. Then the
polled answers will be used for your version of family feud.
The game is unique because it will not only rely on people's
knowledge of the series but also of fellow fans. It should
prove to be an interesting game.

Vampires are known for having heightened senses. So try to
come up with games that revolve around it. For one a great
game idea is based on the sense of smell. Pick some items
with recognizable and not so recognizable smells. Then
blindfold each player and have them guess which item they
are smelling. Another game you can play is the have is a
Twilight version of blind man's bluff. See if you can get
organized clips with each of the characters speaking. You
can then have each guest find where the recording is coming
from.

Twilight – For Movie, Halloween and Birthday Party Ideas

The Timing is Perfect for Twilight Party Ideas.

With the movie DVD being released soon and with all of us
dazzled fans waiting for news about New Moon...the second
book in the Saga and the next movie to be made, this is
going to be a very popular party theme. The Saga was written
by Stephanie Meyer and it has four books in it. The third
book is Eclipse and the fourth...and final book is Breaking
Dawn. The story covers a couple years in the lives of Edward
Cullen...a Vampire, and Bella Swan...his human soul mate.
Not only is this Vampire romance Saga a really good read, it
gives us lots of reasons to have a Twilight Party!

How Good a Story is It?

I've been in a Twilight Fog since I read the books. I picked
the first one up and a week later I put the final novel
down, still wishing there were more to read! I think about
Edward and Bella most of the time, and every day I have a
new favorite character because they are all so likeable!
Yes, even Rosalie! It takes awhile, but fans even warm up to
Rosalie once they hear her story.

Party Ideas?

Yes, there are so many parties you can use a Twilight party
ideas with. The first one that comes to mind is a Movie
Party. Since the movie is being released on DVD in March you
can be the first one to have a party. Just get some red soda
and put some red butter on your popcorn...and maybe drizzle
some melted chocolate on it too..and you are set. Movie
parties don't require too much prep since the theme is the
movie. You can order pizza, serve some drinks and a dessert
if you like, it's an easy party to host.

Halloween Parties are Perfect for Twilight Party
Ideas...with the whole Vampire thing going on. Why not have
a Vampire theme Halloween Bash or A Couples Costume Party?
Invite your friends to come dressed as any kind of Vampire
or as a famous Vampire Couple. Alice and Jasper, Rosalie and
Emmett, Carlisle and Esme, and of course, Edward and Bella.
But there are more couple ideas to think about. The Volturi
Vamps from Italy are great for your gory minded friends, you
know, the ones who like human blood sucking versions of
Vampires, rather than the mild, animal blood drinking ones.

The Volturi couples costumes can use Jane and Alec, Felix
and Demetri, Heidi and Aro, or Marcus and Caius as
inspirations. Or the Volturi would make a great group
costume idea and so would The Cullen Clan. How about going
as the human residents of Forks? The werewolves are another
couples costume idea. Go as Jacob and Leah or Sam and Emily.
Breaking Dawn gives us loads of couple Vampire costume
ideas...you remember all the friends of the Cullen's we were
introduced in the final book of the Saga. If you are really
into vicious Vampires there's always James and Victoria.
There are Life Size stand up cut outs of Bella, Edward,
James, Victoria and Laurent to use as decorations that will
make an impression. In fact, they might freak some of your
party guests out! Twinkle lights have to be part of the
decorations or Alice will be so disappointed! Alice, the
Cullen Family party planner, just loves to use twinkle
lights at all her parties.

Birthdays are Another Great Reason to Use Twilight Party
Ideas.

You know your tween or teenager, the one that has read the
entire Saga, will just love this party theme and so will all
their friends. You can even plan 16th birthday parties
around Twilight. There are some very different color schemes
you can use. Decorations can use the black and red book
covers, or go light with lots of flowers and twinkle lights,
like Bella and Edward's wedding reception. Vampires used to
be dark and evil, but after reading about the Cullen's you
can go with light and bright colors too.

Whatever party theme you use make sure to include some fun
games when you're planning your party. Movie parties can
always fit in a trivia contest. Make your questions about
the movie and the characters. Birthday and Halloween parties
can use trivia too...but there's other games you can include
like: Twilight Charades, Outburst, A Vampire Dress Up Relay
Race, and of course with Halloween, the Costume Contest!
Whatever the reason for using Twilight party ideas, you and
your friends are sure to have a good time!
